Dr. Waheed Ahmad completed his Ph.D. in the field of food biotechnology and bioengineering from East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai, China. He has been awarded the Best Researcher and Laboratory Scientist, Outstanding Scholarship, and Excellence Working Award during his PhD. His research work is diverse and multifaceted. He has completed his MSc. (Hons.) and BSc. (Hons.) in food science and technology, along with the PGDC in Food Safety and Control from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. He has served in the academic and food industry at different positions for 5 years. He has published multiple research papers and book chapters with international researchers. He is a reviewer of various well-reputed impact factor international journals.

Research and Teaching Interests:

            Dr. Waheed Ahmad's research focuses on sustainable food biotechnology and bioengineering, with particular attention on the extraction of bioactive molecules and the valorization of food waste. His research investigates the advanced membrane technologies for the effective separation and purification of chitooligosaccharides. Dr. Ahmad separate and characterizes the bioactive compounds for their therapeutic potential. His research extends to dairy product development, enzymatic hydrolysis, and microbiological fermentation processes that transform the food waste into valuable products. Ultimately, Dr. Ahmad’s work aims to implement sustainable practices and innovations that support health through functional foods and nutraceuticals. Dr. Waheed Ahmad’s teaching interests align closely with his research expertise in food science and biotechnology. He is passionate about educating the students in food science, food biotechnology, nutrition, and sustainable food bioprocessing.
