Prof. Dr. Usman Hameed

Dr Hameed was awarded PhD in Law by the University of Glasgow in 2014.The focus of his research was laws and treaties on Extradition and Mutual Legal Assistance and their contribution towards preventing transnational crimes. 
Prior to this, in 2005, he got an LLM from the University of Sheffield. 
On top of that, he did his PostDoc again from the University of Glasgow in 2022-2023 as an HEC scholar. 

Dr Hameed started his career as a Civil Judge/ Judicial Magistrate in December 2000 before joining University of Sargodha as its Principal/ Associate Professor from 2007-2017. 
Thereafter, he served as Director at Punjab Judicial 
Academy Lahore, Director of UMT School of Law & Policy Lahore and Dean Bahria University Law School Islamabad from 2017-2022. Also, he held the positions of 
Associate Dean and HOD Law at Minhaj University and Lahore Leads University, respectively.
Dr Hameed has authored over 50 articles in national and international journals of high standing. Likewise, he has had the privilege to present conference papers in some of the most prestigious universities of the UK and beyond on numerous occasions. Recently, his book titled 'International Counter-terrorism & Organized Crime Conventions' published by Cambridge Scholars, UK has been catalogued in the library of the Yale University.
He has been an HEC Approved Supervisor since 2015 and his research interest lies in the areas of Public International Law, Law of Evidence, Service Laws and ADR.
