Dr. Shehbaz Ali is a distinguished academic and research professional with a Ph.D. in Biotechnology. He has extensive experience in research, innovation, and industry collaboration, having served as the Director of the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) at Grand Asian University, Sialkot (GAUS), Pakistan. In this role, he played a key part in fostering a strong research culture, securing research grants, and developing strategic partnerships to advance scientific impact.

Dr. Ali has significant expertise in biohydrogen and biomethane production, microbial bioprocess optimization, and the enzymatic transformation of lignocellulosic biomass. His international research experience includes work at DAFNAE, the University of Padua, Italy, where he specialized in biohydrogen production through dark fermentation, focusing on microbial consortia and metabolic pathway engineering. Additionally, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Biofuels Institute, School of the Environment and Safety Engineering, Jiangsu University, China, where he worked on nitrogenase gene optimization for biomethane production and engineered microbial systems for enhanced biofuel yields.

With expertise in advanced molecular biology techniques, including CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing, microbial metabolic engineering, and bioinformatics-driven strain optimization, Dr. Ali has made significant contributions to the field of biotechnology. He has an extensive publication record in high-impact journals, authored book chapters, and presented his research at international conferences.

Throughout his career, Dr. Ali has been actively involved in strategic planning, research development, and capacity-building initiatives to promote innovation in biotechnology and sustainable energy solutions. His contributions continue to drive advancements in renewable energy and industrial biotechnology.
