Pakistan's Institute of Botany, University of Punjab, Lahore, has awarded Qudsia Firdous her doctorate. She has also been enrolled as a visiting scholar at the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities Campus), College of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, and Masonic Cancer Center, USA. She has produced a number of scholarly articles, brief communications, and book chapters in the majority of pertinent periodicals. Her extensive collaboration with national and international academia has opened new research avenues in the fields of Pharmaceutical research describing the anticancer, antibacterial, and antifungal potential of mushrooms, lichens, and their compounds (GCMS & LCMS/MS). She has accomplished this by participating in and presenting at workshops and conferences, and by publishing high-quality research. She also possesses proficiency in molecular characterization, phylogeny, and Polymerase Chain Reaction. In addition, tissue culture techniques were a component of her early scientific work. She has received numerous merit-based scholarships during her academic career.
