Profile Summary

Prof. Dr. Sajid Mehmood has more than 15 years of experience in teaching, research and management.

He is one of the prominent academician and researcher in the field of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with specialization in fermentation biotechnology. He has done his PhD in Biochemistry and won number of scholarships and awards which includes Higher Education Commission (HEC) indigenous scholarship for his PhD Studies and IRSIP fellowship for research in Denmark Technical University (DTU) Denmark. He has published more than 60 research articles of international repute and have more than 1700 citations.

His working experience includes teaching and administrative position like professor/focal person (Biochemistry), Project Director, Head of Department, Chairperson, Vice Principal, Controller of Examination, Member Quality Enhancement Cell, Member Academic Council, Member Finance and Planning, Member Advanced Studies and Research Board and Project Director of different Medical and General Universities/Higher Education Institutes.

He has also won different research projects, supervised undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has the capability to develop internal and external linkages for strengthening research and education as he is the member of several scientific international societies.
