GAUS Dramatic Society
A student society for theatre, acting and stage performance.
Aim
To cultivate the performing arts by providing students a platform to express themselves through theatre, drama and stage performance.
Objectives
Provide a platform for students to showcase their acting and performance talents.
Organise theatrical productions, stage plays and drama competitions.
Conduct workshops on acting, scriptwriting and stage direction.
Encourage creativity and self-expression through dramatic arts.
Preserve and promote theatrical traditions and storytelling.
Code of conduct
Every member agrees to these ten commitments on joining the society.
- Members shall collaborate with mutual respect and support during productions.
- Full commitment to rehearsals, script readings and performances is required.
- Every actor’s creative choices and performance style shall be respected by the cast and crew.
- Members must follow the director’s and executive committee’s creative decisions.
- Backstage sabotage, favouritism or unprofessional conduct will not be tolerated.
- Costumes, props and stage equipment must be handled with care and returned after use.
- Members shall maintain professionalism and stage discipline during public performances.
- Punctuality for rehearsals and shows is critical to production success.
- Members must follow auditorium and campus facility guidelines during events.
- Missed rehearsals without notice or unprofessional conduct may result in role reassignment.
The stage is built by the whole cast.
