Dr. Asma Rafique
Assistant Professor
Dr. Asma Rafique is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biosciences at Grand Asian
University, Sialkot, Pakistan. She earned her PhD in Biotechnology from the University of
Gujrat and has previously served as a Visiting Assistant Professor and Lecturer in the
Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology at the University of Gujrat.
Her research expertise lies in plant molecular biotechnology, with a particular focus on RNA
Interference (RNAi), wheat genetic transformation, the development of insect-resistant crop
varieties, and advanced plant tissue culture techniques. Dr. Asma Rafique has published her
research in reputable international peer-reviewed journals, reflecting her active engagement in
scientific research and innovation. With over eight years of teaching and academic experience,
she has taught a wide range of biotechnology courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate
levels and is deeply committed to academic excellence and student mentorship. Her scholarly
interests center on sustainable agriculture, crop improvement, and the responsible application of
modern biotechnological approaches to address challenges related to agricultural productivity
and global food security.
