BS Biotechnology
Undergraduate Program
Bachelor of Science (BS)
Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology (BS-BT) is a four-year undergraduate degree program. Biotechnology is concerned with the utilization of biological agents or their components for generating useful products or services. It plays an important role in helping industry, medicine and agriculture to produce foods and medicines, manage disease and pests, environmental biotechnology, food biotechnology, microbial biotechnology, plant and animal biotechnology, recombinant DNA technology etc. It is also helpful in making life of human beings peaceful and comfortable. Students will also be able to explore the molecular, cellular and physiological bases of life processes, and develop the intellectual and practical skills necessary for the collection, analysis, interpretation and understanding of biotechnology information and data.
In the field of Biotechnology novel developments has urged the scientific community to construe the knowledge and information present within the living organisms and to use, exploit, modify or improve them to enhance the quality of human life, conquer disease, sustain our environment and advance nutrition.
Students graduating in biotechnology may find jobs in various areas; some of those are listed below:
