Dr. Sadaqut Ali is an accomplished legal scholar, academic, HEC-Approved-Supervisor and researcher currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Law at the Faculty of Law, Grand Asian University Sialkot. He brings with him a wealth of international academic experience, a strong commitment to teaching and research, and a passion for promoting justice and constitutional values.

Dr. Ali completed his LL.B. from the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) in 2015, graduating with First Class Honours. He later pursued his LL.M. in Comparative Laws from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2017, and earned a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice System and Constitutional Law from IIUM in 2021. His academic excellence has been recognised through several prestigious awards and scholarships, including the HEC Indigenous Scholarship and the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) Scholarship.

Before returning to Pakistan, Dr. Ali worked internationally as a Content Review Analyst and Research Assistant with Evo International Malaysia and the Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws at IIUM, contributing to legal research and international academic collaboration. His global exposure and interdisciplinary training have enabled him to approach legal education with a comparative and reform-oriented perspective.

From 28th February 2022 to 30th June 2025, Dr. Ali served at Bahria University Law School (BULS) as an Assistant Professor, where he quickly became a valued and impactful member of the faculty. During this tenure, he undertook several leadership and academic roles, including:

  • Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Law and Social Policy, a Higher Education Commission (HEC)-recognized Y-category journal
  • Head of the Bahria University Law School Research Group
  • Head of the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programme Review Committees
  • Focal Person of the Strategic Management Plan (SMP)
  • Head of the OBE (Outcome-Based Education) Implementation Team
  • Trainer for Research Grant Proposal Writing at both the campus and school levels

In addition to these responsibilities, Dr. Ali has supervised several Ph.D. and LLM scholars, and numerous LLB final-year research projects, playing a significant role in research mentorship and postgraduate legal education in Pakistan.

He is also the initial recipient of a Higher Education Commission (HEC) funded research grant for his project on women’s right to inheritance in rural Pakistan, focusing on legal empowerment, gender justice, and community-based solutions. His research interests include criminal justice reform, constitutional development, human rights law, environmental law, and Research Methodology, combining doctrinal, critical, quantitative and qualitative methods, where he has published several research articles.

Dr. Ali’s personal journey is one of resilience and purpose. Coming from humble beginnings, his academic achievements and contributions are a testament to his determination, faith, and belief in education as a force for justice and change. His return to Pakistan after years abroad was driven by a deep love for his country and a desire to contribute meaningfully to its legal and educational landscape.
