Engr. Mohammad Zulqarnain holds an MSc. in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Taxila and a BSc. in Civil Engineering from International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), Pakistan.

Professional Experience

Junior Engineer – Designmen Engineering Consultant

Engr. Mohammad Zulqarnain has worked as a Junior Engineer at Designmen Engineering Consultants in Islamabad, where he was involved in structural modelling and analysis of multi-storey buildings. His responsibilities included preparing ETABS models, evaluating structural performance, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.

Bridge Inspection Engineer – PCKK under JICA (Japanese International Cooperation Agency)
Engr. Mohammad Zulqarnain has worked under the Japanese International Cooperation Agency, where he conducted thorough bridge inspections to assess the soundness of existing bridge structures in Punjab, Pakistan. He identified defects, damages and safety hazards through nondestructive testing. Collaborated and provided technical assistance to the communication and works (CWD) department, Govt of Punjab, Pakistan, to discuss maintenance requirements and the purpose of necessary repairs, maintenance and rehabilitation. Moreover, quality control procedures are conducted and cross-checking of inspected data of bridges is conducted to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the inspection data.

Research Assistant – University of Engineering & Technology Taxila  

  • Conducted extensive research on fiber-reinforced concrete using laboratory testing, including compressive strength, UPV, rebound hammer, sorpitivity, chloride penetration, acid attack, SEM, XRD and resistivity
  • Supervised two final-year projects on fiber-reinforced concrete
  • Collaborated on multiple research projects related to FRC and sustainable concrete
