Mahmood Akhtar

Mr. Mahmood Akhtar is a highly accomplished academic administrator and seasoned education professional with over four decades of distinguished service in higher education sector. Renowned for his integrity, discipline and unwavering commitment to academic excellence, he has played a pivotal role in shaping examination systems, improving institutional governance and strengthening the academic frameworks.

His career spans extensive leadership roles including long-term service as Founder Controller of Examinations at UET Taxila, Swedish College of Engineering & Technology Wah, and now at Grand Asian University Sialkot where he successfully established standardized examination procedures, modernized academic documentation and ensured transparency and quality across all assessment processes. His work includes the successful organization of numerous university convocations, development of examination systems in affiliated institutions and introduction of standardized formats for transcripts, degrees, medals, and result notifications etc. Alongside his administrative leadership, he has made significant contributions as a teacher and department leader, serving as Lecturer, Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor of Chemistry. As Chairman of the Department of Basic Sciences & Humanities at UET Taxila, he initiated key academic programs, developed laboratories and strengthened the department’s academic capacity. Widely respected for his organizational skills, professional ethics, and innovative approach, he has also served in various important roles related to student affairs, discipline, hostel management, sports, transportation and University statutory bodies/committees.
