Research Contribution

Khizar Qadeer’s research focuses on the development of electrified pavement for dynamic wireless charging of electric vehicles, presenting an innovative and sustainable advancement in transportation infrastructure. By modifying asphalt mixtures with conductive additives such as aluminum and copper, the study enhances both mechanical strength and electrical conductivity, enabling continuous in-motion charging without dependence on traditional charging stations. Through evaluation of Marshall Stability, volumetric properties, and resistivity, the research establishes optimal modifier levels that achieve improved durability and significant reduction in electrical resistance, making the pavement compatible with inductive charging systems. This work not only contributes to the evolution of smart road technology but also supports eco-friendly mobility by promoting uninterrupted EV charging, reducing battery size requirements, and moving toward a cleaner, energy-efficient transportation network.
