Dr. Waheed Ahmed Chatha

Dr. Waheed Ahmed Chatha is an accomplished biotechnology and crop science professional with
a strong focus on agricultural biotechnology and sustainable crop improvement. He holds a PhD
in Biotechnology from the University of Gujrat, Pakistan. His research expertise encompasses
plant molecular biology, genetic transformation, and RNA interference (RNAi) technologies,
with particular emphasis on wheat transformation for insect resistance and nutrient enhancement.
Dr. Waheed Ahmed Chatha brings over a decade of teaching and academic experience, having
served as a Visiting Assistant Professor and Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry and
Biotechnology at the University of Gujrat. He is recognized for his student-centered teaching
approach, commitment to academic excellence, and active role in curriculum development. Dr.
Waheed Ahmed Chatha has published extensively in well-reputed international peer-reviewed
journals, making significant contributions to plant biotechnology and RNAi-based crop
protection strategies. His scholarly engagement also includes participation in national and
international scientific conferences, where he has presented his research and collaborated with
fellow scientists.
A Gold Medalist in his M.Phil. studies, Dr. Waheed Ahmed Chatha is actively involved in
community outreach initiatives, particularly those aimed at promoting sustainable agricultural
practices among farmers. At Grand Asian University, Sialkot, he continues to integrate research,
teaching, and community engagement to address global challenges in biotechnology.
