Dr Sohail Ahmed
Assistant Professor
Dr. Sohail Ahmed is an accomplished Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Grand Asian University, Sialkot, Pakistan, with more than 15 years of distinguished teaching and research experience in leading national and international institutions. He holds a PhD in Inorganic/Analytical Chemistry from Hazara University Mansehra KPK Pakistan and is a recipient of the prestigious HEC IPFP Postdoctoral Fellowship (2018–2019).
Dr. Ahmed’s research expertise lies in synthetic inorganic and organometallic chemistry, with a strong focus on the design, fabrication, and application of advanced nanomaterials and thin films using state-of-the-art techniques such as AACVD and EFAACVD. His work addresses critical challenges in renewable and clean energy technologies, including photocatalytic, electro-catalytic, and energy conversion and storage systems.
He has successfully led and contributed to several internationally funded research projects, published in high-impact journals, and holds an international patent in catalyst development. His academic interests are complemented by extensive hands-on experience with modern materials synthesis and characterization techniques.
Dr. Ahmed has served as Assistant Professor at the University of Haripur KPK and as a Research Associate at the University of Malaya, Malaysia. He teaches a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Recognized for academic excellence, he has received multiple best research and presentation awards and actively contributes to the scientific community through international conferences, workshops, and scholarly publications.
