Program description
The aims and objectives of Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) curriculum are to prepare graduates who will have the capacity, up to date knowledge, strong ethical values, behavior, communication, writing and social skills that will enable them to pursue careers in:
1. Pharmaceutical care in health systems and community environment where appropriate medication usage and patient’s safety is paramount.
2. Pharmaceutical industry and its quality systems.
3. Academia, research and development.

The mission is to achieve excellence in pharmacy education, research and practice in modernize pharmacy era through propagation of knowledge and skills by highly qualified and experienced faculty. Our aim is to develop exceptional, valuable and outstanding professionals who can fulfill the growing healthcare needs of the society and provide standard pharmaceutical care both on national and international level.

Our objective is to produce students who will be able to:
- Get adequate skills to play effective role in the field of Pharmacy
- Work confidently in laboratory and practical fields.
- Serve industrial and healthcare sectors and raise its practicing standards
- Use information technology to access and manage knowledge, evaluate statistically, and to integrate evidence from scientific studies into practice.
- Enhance the standard of healthcare through Excellency in pharmacy education, patient care, and research.
- Produce highly competent pharmacists with in-depth knowledge of science and practice of clinical, industrial techniques and research backgrounds.
- Develop critical thinking.
- Communicate and interact effectively with patients, other healthcare professionals, and the community.
- Cope with National and International requirements of the Pharmacy practices.

Scope of Pharmacy
Pharmacy, as a lifesaving profession, is an important pillar of the health care system which has a vital role in the well-being of the community. With the increasing needs of population for medicines worldwide, the role of pharmacist was realized to be of high importance, since the conventional health care system lacked the capability to deliver the appropriate services regarding medicines due to lesser or no involvement of pharmacists. This lack in delivering the services demands more and more input from pharmacist in order to provide better and quality services regarding medicines to the patients. In technologically developed countries, the clinical direction of Pharmacy has put stress on the manipulative product-oriented and distributive skills and concentrates more on the public health awareness.
Today, being more patient oriented, the Pharmacy profession offers more opportunities to its graduates than does any other field. Pharmacist, after a 5 years’ degree (Pharm-D) has a number of carrier opportunities in diverse fields like hospitals, community, clinics, regulatory bodies, marketing, pharmaceutical industries, academia, research, abroad jobs, and most important of all, the entrepreneurship.
