Profile Summary
- Dr. Khalid Masood received the PhD degree in computer science from the University of Warwick, U.K. in 2010. He is serving as a Professor in Computer Science at Grand Asian University Sialkot, Pakistan. He is actively involved in the processing of biomedical signals and applications of deep learning in health care and cancer research. He holds a patent (filed in the USA) for the cancer research and has been awarded two grants for the medical imaging and biomedical signal processing research. He has authored a number of reputed journal publications and top tier computer science conferences. His research domains include computer vision, machine learning, medical imaging, and biomedical signal processing.
Projects handled by him are as follows:
- Two million SAR research grant had been awarded by KACST (2014-2017) for Dr. Khalid Masood as the leading PI for the project, “Automated Diagnosis of Prostate Cancer using computational histopathology software”.
- The prototype software (Method and Apparatus for Analysis of Histopathology Images and its Application to Cancer Diagnosis and Grading), developed mainly by Dr. Khalid Masood has been approved in 2015 for patent rights in the United States of America.
